I know quest is a big name in protein bars, but there's no reason everyone shouldn't be falling in love with a new brand called Manbake. Ingredients are very similar, except these are gluten-free and paleo-friendly. Taste is similar (although I would argue manbake has a different variety with more pronounced flavors) and a little bit softer texture. To order these bars you can visit manbake.us/collections/protein-bars. Enjoy!
Apple pie:
The flavor and smell actually reminds me of a maple brown sugar cinnamon poptart (which is a good thing!). You do get a stronger cinnamon flavor than apple.. but I kind of prefer it. Definetly didn't want this bar to end! Macros on this are just as good if not slightly better than the apple pie quest bar: for 170cals you're got 5f/24carb (18 fiber)/20p. Absolutely delicious!!
Double Chocolate chip:
In mind I had this to be like the double chocolate chunk, and although similar, it was not as chocolate-y. There were no added sweeteners (which is good) but in my opinion could have used a touch more sweetness. The texture was a little harder/chewier than the other three. It reminded me of a tootsie-roll! Would purchase again, but probably not my favorite of the three.
For 160cals you've got 6f/25c (16 fiber)/20p
Chocolate chip cookie dough:
I'm not sure I would call the flavor of this cookie dough.. But it has a very soft cookie dough like texture with mini chocolate chips. I really enjoyed it but compared to the other flavor wasn't as much on point to the title. Friends around me commented that it looked very good so manbake, you must be doing something right!!
For 190cals you've got 8f/22c (17 fiber)/20p
Strawberry:
These bars are very compatible to quest bars. So, if you have tried the strawberry cheesecake bar this is similar in flavor. I would say this bar also has a softer texture than quest but also a stronger strawberry flavor. I'm impressed there are only 4 ingredients in this bar. I ate this before XC practice and I literally had the whole team ask, "what are you eating? Smells so good!!". That should tell you something!
