I'm not sure I can put into words my love for these bars. The flavors are insane, the macros are glorious, and it's healthy. Uhm... yes, please. It's a love/hate relationship with how fast I went through these. Yup Brands actually makes 2 diferent types of bar- B-Up and B-Jammin'. Currently 6 flavors of one and 3 of the other, here are my thoughts!
B-Up Bars
Peanut Butter: Just your standard peanut butter flavor, packed with protein! Since these bars are so smooth, it's like having peanut butter fudge (which is always a good thing). Broiled I'd compare them to a peanut butter cookie! There also isn't a flavor coating overtop like the other flavor options they have.
(Macros are 220 calories 11f/23c/20p and 18g of fiber)
PB&J: Very true to taste. The top layer of the bar is pink, which makes me think the "j" of pb&j is strawberry. The bar is soft, basically the texture of a melted quest bar which is GREAT because I've gotten to where I don't like how chewy a quest bar is plain. This way I can take the bar on-the-go and actually enjoy it. It's a bit sticky, but totally worth it. Pb&j FTW!
(Macros are 210 calories 10f/24c/20p and 18g of fiber)
Vanilla Peanut Butter: Basically the same as the peanut butter bar, just with an added layer of vanilla overtop. These two bars are very similar, but both delicious! (Macros are 210 calories 9f/24c/20p and 18g of fiber)
Cinnamon Roll: Not that I'm trying to bad talk quest, but I don't like the quest cinnamon roll flavor. This bar however is fantastic. I love cinnamon and I love cinnamon rolls, so bake this and make a little drizzle for the top and you'll see what I mean. No words can be used to describe happiness it will bring. (Macros are 170 calories 4f/28c/20p and 20g of fiber)
Chocolate Mint:
This is like a Girl Scout thin mint cookie on steroids. Seriously insane flavor!! Most mint chocolate thins are either too minty or too chocolatey. This is 50/50. The chocolate chunks inside just take it over the top. Broil this and you've got a perfectly crisp cookie with melty chocolate chips and a mint coating on top. Can't say enough good things about this one!!
(Macros are 180 calories 6f/27c/20p and 20g of fiber)
Sugar Cookie: This and the mint probably tie for favorites. The bar has a little bit of a vanilla taste, which makes it easy to enjoy with any other flavor combinations. For cooking into other recipes or using as a topping this bar just about goes with it all!
(Macros are 180 calories 6f/27c/20p and 20g of fiber)
B-Jammin' Bars
PB&J:
I'm really loving these "stuffed" type bars! The 'J' is definetly strawberry here, very strong fruit flavor. The bit around the jelly is what's packed with the peanut butter. These bars are a little stickier because of the middle, but totally worth it.
(Macros are 180 calories 6/26c/12p and 11g of fiber)
Vanilla Cherry Pie:
If you out 'pie' in the title of anything I'm sold! Seriously though, the cherry flavor is on point. It's not that medicine cherry flavor, it's a sweet cherry filling. The outside of the bar is what has the vanilla flavor. The flavor a go together great! I recommend warming it in the microwave for a few seconds and you're good to go!(Macros are 160 calories 3.5f/28c/12p and 12g of fiber)
Apple Pie Ala Mode:
Apple pie flavored? How about Apple pie batter! This thing is suuper ooey gooey creamy and stuffed with an apple/cinnamon filling. It also has real Apple chunks in there, so forget fruit.. Just grab one of these babies!!
(Macros are 150 calories 2f/29c/12p and 13g of fiber)
I'm sure after seeing these macros, you'll want to compare these to quest. I don't think quest has anything compared to these guys. Quest bars are tough/chewy and really only best when warmed or broiled. These bars are suuuper soft and ooey on their own. The ingredients list is shorter AND these are sweetened with stevia. Their low sodium, gluten free, and have minimal rams of net carbs- it's seriously insane! All shipping in the U.S. is free, so you can visit www.bupbar.com or www.yupbrands.com to order some. Shipping is very fast and their customer service is great if you have any questions! I'd also recommend checking out their instagram @bupbar1 for some really fun recipes using their bars. Guys, I HIGHLY recommend these. I'm headed off to college in a few months and I can guarantee these with be a staple in my room! It makes me excited to go knowing that my parents with be supporting a personal Haley Yup Bar fund. That's a great thing, really.

Pescience=new favorite brand of protein. Their flavors are insanely delicious and true to flavor pluuuussss they're a mix of casein & whey. This means when you make protein fluff the volume in UNREAL. Sadly, snickerdoodle is the only flavor I have at the moment. It is probably the most flavorful protein powder I've ever tried. Bakes great into every recipe I've tried so I thought I'd share a few with you! If you'd like some more options of recipes you could make, you can check out their instagram @pescience or for all the flavors they have to offer check their website www.pescience.com. I am proud to say I stand for absolutely everything this company has to offer. These bars are natural, wholesome, packed with flavor, and 100% prescribed by nature! Apple Cinnamon: I love that these bars don't only tell you the ingredients.. They literally tell you the amount of everything. You know without a doubt what is going into your body! This was the first I tried, and to my suprise is packed with flavor from 7 ingredients. SEVEN. That's it! The sweetness is a very natural one, coming from the dates, fig, and apples. The bar is a bit chewy, but has a nice crunch from the almonds inside. Cinnamon is the perfect addition to make this delicious! Coconut Cacao: The coconut adds the absolute perfect natural sweetness and texture to this bar. The chocolate is actually pretty subtle, not a very deep chocolate. That's not meant as a sad thing, because this bar was probably my favorite. The almonds make this almost like a paleo almond joy, which can never be a bad thing. This bar wasn't as sticky as some of the others either! Peanut Butter: I'm still amazed by the fact these bars have such minimal ingredients. I mean if it only takes 6 ingredients to make magic like this, RxBar must be wizards. These bars are also the perfect size and have the perfect macronutrients to keep your mouth happy and your tummy satisfied. Big thumbs up to these guys!! Blueberry: Intense blueberry flavor! Surprisingly, because there aren't a ton of blueberries throughout. But seriously.. The second you open the package you're attacked by the smell! This one is definetly one of my favorites, and it's a little sweeter than others (naturally of course) from the bluebs. It was also a little softer/chewier than the others, but I liked that. Makes it more like a soft granola bar! Caramel Chocolate: This bar.. I can't find words to describe it. This is easily my favorite of their flavors, possibly my favorite bar. It is very sweet from the dates, but smoother than the other bars. It is very soft without being sticky (some bars with dates can be). The chocolate flavor is strong enough to curb a sweet tooth and there are almonds crushed throughout for texture. Since the nuts are covered in the chocolate, they are almost like chocolate chips. When these come out in June, I'm ordering the entire batch. If you can get your hands on a box of these DO IT. You can easily enjoy these over yogurt, to add crunch to a smoothie, or on their own as the perfect snack! So who's a fan of pudding? Rhetorical question! New favorite dessert: Chia Pudding. Chia seeds are full of omega-3's, calcium, help against cravings, and keep you fuller longer. Why would you not want that?! They soak up about 4x the amount of liquid around them. I put together: 1.5T chia seeds 1/2c 'milk' Sweetener to taste (I prefer honey) Add-ins of choice There are endless possibilities to the variations of flavors you can do with this. By 'milk', you can use regular, almond, cashew, soy milk, or my favorite, coconut milk! You can use full fat, but I think lite coconut milk gives it the perfect texture. For added health benefits, I like to puree it with various fruit for a flavor change and avocado for creaminess. After my liquids are blended, I'll add the chia seeds and soak overnight. This really is a simple recipe, it's just one that needs a little creativity to come to life. Toppings: To make this actually taste like a pudding, I'll add extracts or powders to make the taste stronger. If you like chocolate pudding, add cocoa powder. If you like vanilla, add vanilla extract. To healthify regular pudding flavors you can add a spoon of the fat free/sugar free boxes mix into your mixture when soaking. Whenever you want to eat this I reccommend putting it together the night before so the chia seeds can soak up all the liquid. Then you can add almost anything! I like fruit, nuts, chocolate chips/cacao nibs, nut butters, coconut, or even a little whipped cream! A favorite of mine is cocoa powder inside topped with a spoon of almond butter, a few vegan chocolate chips, and unsweetened coconut shreds. Tastes just like an almond joy! Let me know if you guys have any other flavor combinations to try, hope you enjoy :) Although I am not allergic to gluten, I am transforming my diet into being gluten free. Just a slight problem.. I like bread! Sandwiches are a staple for lunches since their easy to pack for on the go! Running late in the morning? make a slice of peanut butter toast for the ride! Glad to see this brand being sold in local grocery stores to make my life easier. No, there isn't a 'different' taste by making breads without wheat. The texture of the bread is he same to any other whole grain bread you've tried. It freezes well, works perfect in recipes, and most importantly tastes great! My local grocery stores only sell the 7-grain and cinnamon raisin breads, but to see everything the company has to offer you can visit their website www.canyonbakehouse.com and for recipes visit their instagram page @canyonbakehouse. Happy eating!
7-Grain Bread: I love how the texture of this is very hearty- helps keep me full! It toasts just like any other bread and stays fresh in the fridge for a long time. If you choose to freeze it, the slices actually thaw very quickly. I've used this in my Panini press as well, which again works just as easily. (15 slices to a loaf, each slice 70 calories 1.5f/14c/2p) Cinnamon Raisin Bread: Add cinnamon to anything and I'm a fan. The raisins add a nice sweetness making this a tasty breakfast or quick dessert. But my favorite thing to use this flavor for is French toast! Texture and fridge/freezer wise this bread is the same as their 7-grain. (15 slices to a loaf, each slice 80 calories 1.5f/15c/1p) Hamburger Buns: These were an unexpected surprise! My family let me use them a guinea pigs to try out a new recipe, Sloppy Joes! (healthified, of course). These were pretty perfect for that. They look like a big roll, so a deli sandwich could easily be made with these as well. They are a bit denser than the bread, so don't the buns won't soak up any liquids from what you may be cooking (soggy bread = the worst thing in life). (4 buns to pack, each bun 200 calories 4f/40c/4p) Cranberry Crunch Muffins: I was kind of hesitant to try these at first because of how calorically dense they are, but let me just say it's worth it. If you are like me and don't want to wake up early to fix breakfast every morning, grab one of these and go! The size of these can't be compared to a normal size muffin seeing as though these are HUGE. They will keep you full for a while. They are also filled with several different types of nuts & seeds (hint the name cranberry CRUNCH muffins). Pumpkin and poppy seeds are the main crunchies which add a beautiful color and a fabulous taste. (4 muffins to pack, each muffin 380 calories 18f/52c/4p) Finally! A natural, sugar free brand of gum. So far, they sell 5 different flavors which are all as tasty as they sound! I am SUPER happy to have come across this natural brand of bars. The macronutrients are very similar to those of a quest bar (just to give you something to compare) although instead of whey, they use a blend of brown rice & pea proteins. Hint: why they call it a 'No Cow Bar'. I could go on and on about all the good things this brand has going for them- nothing artificial, non-GMO, low carb, vegan, no sugars, no gluten, no dairy, no soy, no milk products, and oh yeah.. No guilt! The flavor combinations are also insane. Check them out at www.dnaturals.com or follow them on instagram @dsnaturals!
Mint Chocolate Chip: Mint game is strong! Parents were beside me eating the thin mint Girl Scout cookies and I totally didn't feel left out. I broiled these into my own "cookies" and they were killer. There were little crispy bits of the inside that added a nice bit of crunch. Really really awesome stuff!! (Macros are 160 calories 4.5f/23c/20p and 19g of fiber) Chocolate Pecan Pie: Very chocolatey! I wish there were more pecans in this. Maybe crushed throughout or something. I enjoyed this broiled and it reminded me of pecan shortbread cookies. Perfectly sweet and melts in your mouth! (Macros are 180 calories 6f/23c/20p and 19g of fiber) Peanut Butter Cookie Dough: Aka all of Haley's favorite things about life. Peanut flavor is the main thing I'm getting though, not too much cookie dough. Texture seemed a little softer than the others, maybe that's just the cookie dough comig through! Either way, I'm a big fan. This was probably my favorite! (Macros are 170 calories 5f/25c/20p and 19g of fiber) Blueberry Cobbler: Blueberry flavor is very strong, as you would imagine. It's the first thing you smell when you open the package! The texture eating the bar plain is a little tough, kind of like a tootsie roll. This tasted amazing after a little melting action! I used a toaster to make mine get a little crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. Top this with a few melted berries and you have a vegan blueberry cobbler. Now that's what I call dessert!! (Macros are 170 calories 2.5f/25c/22p and 19g of fiber) A smarter way to fix that sweet tooth- stevia sweetened chocolate bars! This is also made with cacao, not cocoa. So far this brand only makes 5 flavors. But of course, I had to give it a go! This is their pomegranate dark chocolate bar. Very short ingredients list which is always good to see! It's kind of crazy to see one serving has ELEVEN grams of fiber. I never knew chocolate had so much! Each bar has about 2.5 servings. A serving being around 10 pieces equaling 160 calories 12/23c/3p. The chocolate is a very rich, deep, dark chocolate flavor. Each bite just kind of melts in your mouth! It's perfectly sweet, but I like that there are little bits of pomegranate seeds inside because it gives it a little bit of tang as well. Absolutely loving the sweet/tart combination. Really delicious! You'd never know this bar is sweetened with stevia, or even healthy for that matter. That's what makes it great! I highly recommend these bars! Easy to melt down to cook or bake with, so these are perfect for any of your chocolate recipes. You can check out their instagram @Sweetstivii for some neat ways to use their bars or at www.stivii.com to order, enjoy! Basically it's a socially acceptable way for us to eat baby food. That's a great thing, really. Each of these has 1/2 cup of fruits & vegetables. It's completely clean- nothing artificial and no sugars. It's vegan, non GMO, USDA oranic... All the good stuff! Glo Bars
Mixed Nuts Caramel & Sea Salt: Veeeery soft, I'm talking melt-in-your-mouth kind of soft! There's crushed nuts and chia seeds sprinkled throughout, so even though the bar is soft there is lots of crunch. Caramel factor is on point and you can actually taste both the sweet & salty flavors. Mini chocolate chips are sprinkled inside which makes this the perfect sweet treat! Can't believe this bar has ten grams of fiber either! (Macros 190 calories are 12f/20c/10p and 10g of fiber) Creamy Peanut Butter and Sea Salt: Pure peanut butter! Has the taste of roasted peanuts with a nice salty taste afterwards. The sprouted chia & flaxseeds are key here, perfect crunch! (Macros are 180 calories 11f/17c/15p and 14g of fiber) Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate & Sea Salt: Like the other bars, there are sprouted flax & chia seeds sprinkled throughout. The base is like peanut butter fudge- very soft, smooth, and ooey-gooey! There are a few chocolate chips sprinkled, which adds a great sweet dark chocolate bite. Contrast between sweet/salty is on point.. I highly recommend this as well!! (Macros are 180 calories 11f/19c/11p and 13g of fiber) Super Food Bars Cranberry Almond & Coconut: This bar was very chunky, almost like a chewy granola bar. Big coconut shreds, sweet dates, and tart cranberries. Also a little crunch from the almonds! All in all, another great raw bar. (Macros are 220 calories 13f/26c/4p and 4g of fiber) Double Chocolate Brownie: This bar isn't just brownie flavored, it's even got mini chocolate chips to top it off! The dates made this so creamy it was basically brownie batter. 8 thumbs up by me! It was a deeper, dark chocolate flavor without being bitter. Very delicious! (Macros are 210 calories 12f/22c/5p and 3g of fiber) All bars made by Raw Revolution are USDA organic, gluten free, and non GMO. I love that they use sprouted chia and flaxseeds, as well as all other superfoods used being raw. Their protein bars are made with plant-based proteins, but honestly they have tasted better than several other protein bars I have tried. Most protein bars tend to be dry from the powders they use, but these were really fantastic! All three of them were packed with flavor, texture, and fiber. I literally have no complaints! As far as the superfood bars go, they are great for quick energy. These were made using dates and agave, giving your body natural forms of simple carbs. Being a runner, these were perfect for a preworkout snack. They settle well and taste great, I highly recommend them all! If you'd like to see what all RawRev has to offer, you can check out their website www.rawrev.com (they also make mini sizes!) or visit their instagram @RawRev. Hope you all enjoy and stay healthy! |
