I've always wanted to make bread using protein powder that wasn't a sweet/dessert bread but hadn't ever found an unflavored natural whey... Until true nutrition! I baked this like a regular loaf (my dad actually had other normal breads cooking at the same time). It needs the same time to rise & cook so all you're doing is adding a little extra protein, which can't ever be a bad thing!
Ingredients:
-1c warm water (helps the yeast rise
-1.5 c oats pulsed into flour
-1c bread flour
-1t yeast
-1/2t salt
-2scoops unflavored whey
-1T butter (I used flaxseed oil butter)
-2T stevia (or sugar)
Method:
I combined all my ingredients then poured into a well greased baking pan. You need to let your bread rise for about 40 minutes in a warm area. I preheated my oven to 125 F then turned it off so the heat would stay inside. After the time went off, I pulled my bread out and preheated the oven to 350 F. When my oven was up to temperature, I placed my loaf in to bake for about 20-30 minutes. Time always varies with bread so you want to make sure to check it- you may need more, you may need less. After finished I let it cool then sliced as devoured. Hope you al enjoy!!
