Alright, delicious and nutritious product right here. At first yogurt was great for you, then the new thing was Greek yogurt, now it's quark. (If you haven't heard of it, quark is a German style food which is actually a cheese product, not yogurt!) Elli Quark was recently put into health-foodie stores (earthfare and whole foods if you live in the south) so I was thrilled to try them out!! If you would like to see everything this brand has to offer, you can visit <www.elliquark.com> to find where they are located near you. aaaaaand let me just say I highly, highly reccommend. These yogurt pots each have only 80 calories (with 14 grams of protein!), packed with flavor, and keep you satisfied like a full-fat milk product would (but they're fat free!).
Flavors
Strawberry: I don't usually go for fruit flavored things because it always has a fake taste to me. Good thing they use real strawberries! Suuuuper creamy, true to flavor, and delicous!!
Blueberry: I've never had a blueberry-flavored yogurt that actually used the real fruit, and it had a lot! I love how creamy these are. Almost the texture of pudding, which is always a good thing at any point of the day.
Cherry: this has a tart cherry taste as opposed to a sweeter cherry. There wasn't as many chunks of fruit in this as the others, but there were a few in there. One if my favorite fruits and it didn't dissapoint!
Lemon: since the cherry was tart, I expected this to have a tangy-er flavor. But it wasn't! I'd give this more of a lemon cream description. I love lemon yogurts, so this was one of my favorites.
Pineapple: again a sweet version of the fruit, not tangy. Not many chunks of the fruit in there but really strong flavor. I'm still suprised at how creamy they get the texture of these. I give it an "A++"!
Red velvet: this was the first of the "sweet" flavors I tasted. I'm not sure it has quite as much flavor as the fruit ones, but it is very true to taste. I actually used it in a batter to make a waffle (which turned out delicious!) so it is very easy to cook with. In case you were wondering it doesn't not have any chunks like some of the others.
Plain: of course plain yogurt doesn't have much to it so I'd reccomend some spices, fruit, or sweetner to give it more flavor. If you're someone who uses plain Greek yogurt instead of Mayonaise or sour cream you might want to try this instead. The texture is much smoother so It's actually a lot closer to the real thing! I ended up baking with mine and it turned out great. Very versital!
Vanilla: I wasn't as excited to try this flavor after seeing all the other fun flavors, but boy was that a mistake! This is actually one of my favorites. It's just as creamy as the others, but they use real vanilla beans inside. The flavor was insane! I feel like if you froze this one it would end up suuuuper similar to vanilla bean ice cream.
Sea salt caramel: it's kind of ironic that they say 'sea salt' when there's like 50 mg of sodium haha. Full of that caramel sea salt flavor without bad ingredients! They actually sent me 2 of these and I'm glad they did because it makes for a great dessert! High in protein, low in calories, and extremely satisfying.
Bananas foster: I've never had bananas foster so I'm not completely sure what type of dessert this was supposed to resemble, but it definetly wasn't lacking in the banana flavor! You can tell they use real banana purée inside. This is a creamier one as far as fruit flavors go because the chunks of fruit are mixed well. Seriously though, this is suuuuper banana-ey!!
